Bryan Derrick, Director of "Theatre of Transformation" is a graduate of the acclaimed John Bolton Theatre School, Melbourne in its inaugural year 1991. He also graduated in Theatre Studies at U.C.L.A. in Berkeley, California in 1987.
His list of achievements include:
Full time Secondary School Teacher 1969 - 1988, including
Vice-Principal, Year Level Coordinator, Faith Development Coordinator, Sportsmaster, Homeroom Teacher.
B.Sc in Life and Earth Sciences
Counsellor and Theatre Director at Malmsbury Juvenile Justice Centre for 8 years.
Design and Direction of the Closing Ceremony in Sydney for the Beatification of Mother Mary MacKillop by Pope John Paul II.
Victorian State Youth Director for the Society of St Vincent de Paul.
V.I.E.U Award recipient for "Best Educational Delivery" using Theatre of Transformation and Ritual Celebration.
Bryan was awarded an $11,000 grant from the University of Sydney's Innovative and Best Practice project to further research and develop his theatre projects in schools.
Co-winner with the "Breaking Through" Project, of the VIC HEALTH award for outstanding contribution to Health in Victoria.
Author and Director of the "You, the Teacher" program.
"ACT-OUT, SPEAK UP" project in Springvale and presenting the final report (including a video) to the Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau and hence the funding, body the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care and the National Illicit Drug Strategy Community Partnership Initiative.

Presented the Theatre of Transformation in various forums at Secondary Colleges across Victoria, including: St John's College, Dandenong, Colac Regional College, St Kevin's College, Toorak, Warracknabeal Secondary College, Hopetoun Secondary College, Maryborough Regional Secondary College, Kyneton Secondary College, Gisborne Secondary College, Castlemaine Secondary College, Hawthorn Secondary College, Christian Brothers' College St Kilda, The Berrengarra School, Glen Waverley and at a range of conferences, including "Achieving Together", Bendigo.
Contracted as a Theatre Director by several schools and Organisations to facilitate Theatre Ritual and Celebration for a wide range of scenarios and significant events.

THE CANVAS PROJECT.
Currently Bryan is directing A Theatre of the Oppressed presentation as part of a project which draws attention to the specific challenges facing Vietnamese young people in Australia.
The final presentation will occur in September this year.
A range of articles and publications including the cover story in the September 1998 " The Boys in Schools" Magazine feature Bryan's innovative and challenging projects and achievement. Bryan's work takes him across Australia. His professionalism and creativity in directing staff development workshops, engaging School clusters in Theatre projects, designing and directing theatre and ritual for significant rites of passage, life events and events of spiritual, communal and societal valuable process in the holistic development of young people has empowered the lives of many hundreds of young people and those who care for them.
